HIDALGO, Texas (CSBDFW) – Weslaco Border Patrol Station agents encountered a large group of 119 migrants in Hidalgo during inclement weather on May 12.
The group consisted of 93 family members and 26 noncitizen unaccompanied children. They were nationals from the countries of Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Ecuador. Due to the heavy rain and thunderstorms passing through the Rio Grande Valley, agents and contractors transported the migrants to shelter at the Port of Entry in Hidalgo.
The intake procedures usually conducted at the place of encounter, were done at the port in order to keep the migrants, which included very young children, out of the severe weather. The migrants were then transported to a Border Patrol facility for processing.

The illegal aliens are citizens of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. All of the noncitizens were taken into Border Patrol custody.
Monday evening, agents assigned to the Weslaco Border Patrol Station responded to a call for assistance from the Donna Police Department with a possible human smuggling stash house in Donna. Upon arrival at the residence, agents encountered 53 illegal aliens. The criminals were from Mexico and Central America. No principal or caretaker was identified at the location. Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents rescued two groups of migrants from human smuggling stash houses in two separate incidents.
Rio Grande City Border Patrol agents received a call for assistance from the Escobares Police Department Sunday night regarding a suspected human smuggling stash house operation, according to information obtained from Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials. The agents teamed up with local police, armed with a search warrant, and conducted a check on the suspected stash house.
