A memorial service for Martha A. Bridges, 94, of Sedalia, will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13. Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life for Mary Ellen Merritt, 89, of Sedalia, will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Heckart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Janet Lee Collister, 78, of Sedalia.
A graveside service for Ronnie Alan Vincent, 38, of Fayette, formerly of Sedalia,will be held in the Spring at Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.
Dentist leaves a deep impression on county
By Karen Zach, Around the County Thursday, January 7, 2021 4:00 AM Although Elmer Washington Ream (love to say that name) was born in Huntington County, Indiana (Halloween day, 1862) he made a deep impression upon our fair city and county. Spending his younger years on his parents’ (David and Delilah) farm, he learned hard work, the love of God, music and to be kind. Growing up in a fairly large family (at least two brothers and two sisters), he had a happy childhood.
Attending school throughout the winter months he knew from early on he wanted to be a dentist and after a fine younger education, ventured his way to the Cincinnati, Ohio College of Dental Surgery. His grades were exceptional, and he graduated in the class of 1890. Returning home to Huntington, he began doing some professional work but was really in search of a practice to purchase. ISHPEMING, MI – Paul Bluekamp, 89, of Ishpeming, entered his eternal heavenly home, on January 7, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.
Paul was born in Holland, Michigan, on January 14, 1931, to the late Albert and Ella (Klassen) Bluekamp. Paul graduated from Holland Christian High School in 1948 and later attended Hope College and Michigan State University where he earned a degree in Geology. His college education was temporarily interrupted however when he was called to serve his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Carol Vander Hill on September 26, 1953.
After graduation, Paul joined Steinman Engineering and worked on the Mackinac Bridge for several years. In fact, some of the equipment he used was dedicated to and is still displayed in the museum in Lansing dedicated to the building of the bridge.
