TSU Newsroom STEPHENVILLE  Krisol Villa Flores is driven. She wanted to be a teacher so badly, she daily commuted an hour each way to Tarleton State University’s Waco campus to take classes. A native of Chihuahua, Mexico, Krisol came to the United States eight years ago, not knowing English but having a determination to succeed. And succeed she has. She will take the stage Saturday morning at Tarleton’s Memorial Stadium to deliver the commencement address to graduates from the College of Education and the College of Science and Technology. Seeing her little girl at a distinct educational disadvantage gave Krisol that initial push to serve in the classroom.

Ethridge was elected to the position in 2000 after serving on the city council since 1993. Linda Ethridge served on the city council from 1993 to 2000 and was elected mayor in 2000. Ethridge also served on the Waco Independent School District school board.  Ethridge was instrumental in the fight for Waco s water quality and stopping water pollution, the city s public information office said in a Facebook post. She was also vital to the project involving the raising of the water level in Lake Waco to ensure an adequate water supply for future Waco generations. She was well-known for her no-nonsense approach to leadership.

Waxahachie ISD Superintendent Bonny Cain announces plans to re-retire

Daily Light report At a meeting called by the Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees on Monday evening, Superintendent Dr. Bonny Cain announced her plans to “re-retire” this June. “I was so happy to be chosen to lead this district, as daily the staff met higher and higher expectations for student performance, while simultaneously being charged with preparing students for jobs that lay in an unknown future,” Cain said. “These past three years have been a wonderful professional and personal growth experience. I am grateful that for 43 years I have been able to practice a profession that I truly love. I am confident that Waxahachie ISD has nothing but a bright and successful future ahead of it.”
