WACO, TX â This time last year we were all locked at home wondering when we ll be able to see family and friends again as Covid-19 spread throughout the world.
A year later, with vaccine access and less cases per day people aren t so nervous to be with family and friends as we all safely return back to normal.
For Lupe Botello getting back to the good old days means hanging with his kids at the park, a place that was completely closed off at the peak of the pandemic.

WACO, TX â Unlike many businesses that have gone through employee furloughs and terminations, Waco Family Medicine (WFM) has done the opposite. They ve successfully worked to retain all employees through this very trying time.
WFM has 570 employees and with their size, they did not qualify for PPP funding, like many they saw significant revenue loss over the last year. However, with grant funding, philanthropy, diligent clinical work and other innovations WFM worked through a pandemic.
WFM has taken on many new roles in this pandemic, one of them being a key contributor to COVID-19 information and help.

Every day for the past 14 months, a Texan has died from COVID-19, but this weekend that changed. This milestone has many feeling like the end is near. One COVID-19 survivor is happy to hear the news but remains cautiously optimistic.

COVID-19 vaccine demand starting to plummet in Central Texas
Demand for the COVID-19 vaccine has suddenly dropped, and some providers have stopped ordering the shot. What does that mean for herd immunity? Author: Andrew Moore Updated: 8:38 PM CDT May 4, 2021
TEMPLE, Texas As of Tuesday, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services, nearly 50 percent of Texans 16 years and older have been vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose.
If all of those individuals get their second dose as well, that leaves around half of vaccine-eligible Texans immune to the virus.
Half is, unfortunately, not enough for herd immunity.
