More than 100 people who knew Ronald Boss Hog Durham gathered at Hunter Huss High School Sunday to release balloons in his memory.
Durham, a 1999 graduate of Hunter Huss who loved to travel, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer while visiting New Orleans in 2016. Many medical episodes, including kidney failure, temporary blindness and two seizures, would follow.
Despite being told in 2016 he wouldn t live more than six months even with dialysis, Durham beat the odds and lived to age 41. He died on Wednesday, April 28, at Testa Family Hospice in Kings Mountain. Durham lived in Kings Mountain.
