SEATTLE - MacKenzie Scott, philanthropist, author and former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, said she has given away $4.1 billion in the past four months to hundreds of organizations as part of a giving pledge she announced last year.
She gave Prairie View A&M University near Houston a $50 million donation – it’s largest ever. It will help students struggling with the pandemic make tuition payments and support scholarships, as well as current faculty positions.
