Washington: Billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has remarried after her high-profile divorce from Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos.
In a letter posted to the website of the philanthropy nonprofit organisation the Giving Pledge on Saturday, Dan Jewett, a science teacher at the prestigious Seattle school attended by her children, said that he was “grateful for the exceptional privilege it will be to partner in giving away assets with the potential to do so much good when shared.”
What might otherwise be a wholly private, personal decision, takes on unusual significance in light of the resources at Scott’s disposal - $53 billion according to Forbes’ most recent estimate - and her stated intention to give the majority of it away.
