8-year-old boy dies after shooting inside Michigan home

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI – An 8-year-old boy is dead after a fatal shooting inside a Michigan home on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear, but police have one person in custody and the case is expected to be turned over to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office today, WDIV Local 4 reports.
Canton Township Police officers were called to the scene of the shooting around 4 p.m. on Tuesday at a residence in a manufactured home community.
Police have not released the identities of the victim or the person custody. The circumstances of the shooting have not been released.

CHIPPEWA TOWNSHIP A Rittman woman died Tuesday in a one-vehicle crash after being thrown from the car.
According to a news release from the Ohio Highway Patrol, Brooklynn Adcox, 26, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County coroner.
Adcox was a front-seat passenger in a Saturn SL driven by Jason Morrison, 34, also of Rittman. The patrol said Morrison was driving east on Eastern Road when the vehicle traveled left of center and off the north side of the roadway striking a tree and overturning.
Two children in the car, ages 6 and 2, were each transported to Akron Children s Hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening, the release states. Morrison was treated at the scene.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) â The little boy who lost his life in Canton Township after what relatives call a tragic accidental shooting is 8-year-old Jack Bennett.
âHe is a fun-loving kid. Everyone loved him. He could get away with anything with his two little dimples,â said Tammy Snyder, the little boyâs mom.
Snyder says Jack was her and his dadâs only child, their joy and he loved his dad. He loved planes, trains, trucks, and said he wanted to be a garbage man when he grew up.
âHe loved going fishing with his dad, loved watching all kinds of movies, especially Nightmare Before Christmas,â she said.
