So what can you do when you retire and want to keep your mind sharp or need to gain additional skills to stay competitive at work? For many, the answer is to go back to school. But tuition can be prohibitively expensive. At the same time, schools want their classrooms to be full of engaged students, regardless of age. In the interest of continuing education, many colleges and universities offer reduced or free college tuition to senior citizens, including older veterans. That typically means adults 60 and up, although the rules vary.

Sean Kammer was unanimously appointed to the position after a nationwide search was conducted for an executive director. The position became vacant earlier this year when Ingrid Tighe resigned to take a similar role with Oakland County’s Economic Development Department.

Nurses Week, May 6-12, 2021, brings to light a year that demanded changes in safety protocols throughout the medical community, such as remote telehealth patient visits, visitor limitations and masking requirements. Along with patient care also came new duties for diagnostic testing and, once vaccines became available, health care professionals began vaccinating the public.
