PARIS, Feb 4 (Reuters) - European prompt electricity prices gained on Thursday on lower demand ahead of the weekend. German baseload power for the day ahead ticked up 2.2% to 51.10 euros ($61.25) per megawatt hour (MWh) at 0932 GMT. The equivalent French contract added 4% to 51.75 euros. Paris-based European spot power exchange Epex Spot traded 53.8 TWh on its day-ahead and intraday power markets in January, 2.1% more than a year earlier. Of the January total, the French day-ahead segment traded a new monthly record of 11.7 GWh, 11.3% up on the same month last year. Consumption in Germany is forecast to ease by 670 megawatts (MW) on Friday to stand at 62.8 gigawatts (GW).

PARIS, Feb 3 (Reuters) - European spot electricity prices for Monday delivery rose on Wednesday as power generation from wind turbines is expected to decrease in Germany and France. German baseload power for Thursday added 10.9% to 50.20 euros ($60.32) per megawatt hour (MWh) by 1024 GMT. The equivalent French contract jumped 20.8% to 50 euros/MWh. German wind power is set to fall 6 gigawatts (GW) on Thursday to 16.8 GW, Refinitiv Eikon data showed. French wind power is expected to tumble 5.5 GW to 3.2 GW, the data showed. French nuclear availability was unchanged at 84.1% of maximum capacity. The restart date for the Gravelines 3 reactor was pushed back two days until Feb. 7.
German crude oil imports for the first 11 months of 2020 were down 2.8% year on year after the COVID-19 pandemic and related lockdowns hit industrial activity, official data showed. Oil volumes reaching Germany totalled 76.4 million tonnes for the January-November period, down from 78.6 million for the first 11 months of 2019, monthly statistics .
