MEMBERS of Clocaenog Dog Club were interviewed for a National TV Show to raise awareness of responsible dog ownership. A film crew from BBC Countryfile spent the day in Clawddnewydd, just outside Ruthin, filming with the Clocaenog Dog Club. The aim of the filming was to help highlight the issue of keeping dogs on a lead in the countryside. Throughout North Wales, livestock worrying is a re-occurring problem which is dealt with on a regular basis by the North Wales Police Rural Crime Team. BBC Countryfile presenter Joe Crowley spoke to Angie Platt, Founder of the club and Head of Marketing at Denbighshire Leisure Ltd, about the issue of dogs around livestock in the area.

NORTH Wales new police chief is urging farmers in Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham to use low-powered smart sensors to combat farm thefts. North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Andy Dunbobbin is backing a new scheme to encourage the farming community to tap into wireless technology. The LoRaWAN (Low Power Long Range Wide Area Access Network) is especially suited to rural areas where communications infrastructure often falls short. The Future Farms Cymru project is being masterminded by North Wales Police’s pioneering Rural Crime Team in partnership with their counterparts in Dyfed Powys with whom they work closely. Mr Dunbobbin is jointly funding the initiative in conjunction with the Dyfed Powys PCC, Dafydd Llewelyn.
