A bronze sculpture of Kiwi, the farm horse that stopped a nation, is planned to be installed in Waverley – but only if the community agree, and $200,000 can be fund raised to cover the cost. Retired New Plymouth surgeon Fridtjof Hanson has almost completed the sculpture of the famous Melbourne Cup winner, with jockey Jimmy Cassidy, and is now making preparations to have it cast in bronze.
