Kiwi set to race again in Waverley if $200,000 can be raised

A bronze sculpture of Kiwi, the farm horse that stopped a nation, is planned to be installed in Waverley – but only if the community agree, and $200,000 can be fund raised to cover the cost. Retired New Plymouth surgeon Fridtjof Hanson​ has almost completed the sculpture of the famous Melbourne Cup winner, with jockey Jimmy Cassidy, and is now making preparations to have it cast in bronze.
