Clearly exceeding the 70mph speed limit, you wonder if they ever get caught driving dangerously. Well, some do, and some of these speedsters hail from Berkshire. We’ve dug through the court lists to find five drivers from the royal county who were fined or banned for breaking the 70mph motorway limit including one who was driving at a staggering 107mph!
Shami Thapar, of Blunden Drive, Slough, was fined £1,000 after being caught exceeding the 70mph motorway limit on the M6 in Merseyside in May 2020. The 43-year-old appeared at Slough Magistrates Court in December 2020, where he was also told to pay £185 in extra costs.

On October 26 last year, police were called to the Ye Olde Swan in Burnham High Street following an argument in the pub between the landlady, Jaqueline Murray, and her partner, who co-runs the business, Charles May. At High Wycombe Magistrates Court on Thursday, the court heard how during the argument, May, aged 44, had thrown a glass of water in the face of his partner, saying “Do you want to wear this? Here you go” as he threw it.
