An investigation by the Kentucky Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has resulted in the arrest of a Williamsburg man on charges related to child sexual abuse material. At 3:01 p.m. Thursday, Kentucky State Police Detective Jason Dials arrested Hobert Lee Elswick, 48, and charged him with five counts of possessing or viewing matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance and four counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance and lodged him in the Whitley County Detention Center. The charges are each Class ‘D’ felonies punishable by one to five years in prison. Elswick was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploading images of child sexual exploitation online, according to a state police release.

  — The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Hobert Lee Elswick, 48, on charges related to child sexual abuse material on Thursday. Elswick was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploading images of child sexual exploitation online.   The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Williamsburg on December 17, 2020. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing. Elswick is currently charged with five counts of possessing or viewing matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance and four counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance, 1

Three receive later dates for court appearances

By Emily Adams-Bentley Staff Writer Dec 18, 2020 Dec 18, 2020 WHITLEY COUNTY — On Tuesday, three men set to be in Whitley County Circuit Court received later dates for court appearances. Thomas Hensley, 35, of Williamsburg, who is facing charges of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under the age of 12, appeared in court on Tuesday for a pretrial conference. According to the indictment, Hensley subjected a child less than 12 years of age to sexual contact that occurred between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2015. Hensley had his jury trial date set for February 1, which is the first available date as the circuit court is not allowed to hold trials until February now due to orders put in place by the Kentucky Supreme Court.
