Prod Gensler Over Trump-Era Law Targeting China Law360 (June 28, 2021, 9:27 PM EDT) A group of GOP senators wants assurances from U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Gary Gensler that the implementation of a Trump-era law aimed at cracking down on Chinese companies evading U.S. oversight won t be delayed following the ouster of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board s chairman, according to a letter sent Monday. The Holding Foreign Companies Accountable Act, enacted in December, aims to crack down on foreign companies that are listed on U.S. or over-the-counter exchanges but operating outside the accounting oversight board s purview.
