Police need to back off these minor infractions that escalate and end in someone's death.
Sunday's shooting took place approximately 14 miles from where Floyd was killed.
On Monday, President
Joe Biden called for "peace and calm" following what he called the "tragic" deadly police shooting of
Daunte Wright in Minneapolis.
Responding to Wright's death on Sunday, Biden told reporters at the White House, "I haven't called Daunte Wright's family, but my prayers are with the family. It's really a tragic thing that happened. The question is, was it an accident? Was it intentional? That remains to be determined by a full-blown investigation." He went on to describe the body-cam footage of the incident as "fairly graphic."
