FAYETTE COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC) - Five teens who escaped from Wilder Youth Development Center ended up on a familyâs front porch asking to make a phone call.
The family said it was early in the morning and they soon realized who the teens were.
âI came to the door. I was like who is it? So, they were like our car broke down. Can we use the phone,â said Bianca Jones.

WREG, all five, who are reported to each have a violent history, have been caught.
Officials with the Fayette County Sheriff s Office said five teenagers, between the ages of 16 to 18, escaped from the Wilder Youth Development Center around 11 p.m. Sunday. They reportedly fled the center on foot, escaping through a hole they created in the security fence outside the facility. Law enforcement began receiving reports of a group walking near Interstate 40 and Bernard Road, and when authorities arrived, they managed to take all five into custody without incident.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC) - The Fayette County Sheriffâs Office says five violent detainees who allegedly escaped the Wilder Youth Development Center Sunday night are now back in custody.
FCSO says the teens left in an âunknown direction of travelâ after escaping the facility on foot. They were being detained on charges including carjacking, aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a deadly weapon, theft of property and evading arrest.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Children who are abused, neglected, and delinquent in Tennessee are supposed to be helped by the Department of Childrenâs Services.
The department was created in 1996 to âprovide services to those children who are unruly, delinquent, dependent and neglected.â
A state comptrollerâs report, released Tuesday afternoon, shows the agency found multiple issues within DCS that put Tennesseeâs most vulnerable children at risk.
