John Verbeeten, 61, of Henfield Road, Small Dole, was fined £333 and must pay £33 victim surcharge, £85 costs, after being found guilty under the single justice procedure of failing to stop at a red light in Old Shoreham Road, Portslade, on November 10, 2019. His driving licence was endorsed with three penalty points and he was disqualified from driving for six months due to repeat offending.
Ben Wilkinson, 19, of St George’s Walk, Eastergate, was fined £500 and must pay £50 victim surcharge, £90 costs, after being found guilty under the single justice procedure of driving over the 30mph in Barnham Road, Barnham, on January 24, 2020. His driving record was endorsed with five points.
A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was attacked over the weekend. A woman suffered serious injuries during after being attacked at a house in Littlehampton Road, Worthing, late on Saturday night. Gary Mallon has been charged with attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The 59-year-old appeared before magistrates in Worthing on Tuesday, where he was detained under Section 2 of the Mental Health Act. A Sussex Police spokesman said: Police responded to a report of a woman being assaulted at a property in Littlehampton Road, Worthing at 11.45pm on Sunday, January 31. The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Sussex Police said at around 1pm on Saturday, Roads Policing Unit (RPU) officers stopped a Honda Civic alleged to have been speeding on the A27 at Patching.
The driver was required to undergo a roadside test for drugs, which he failed, said police.
A 28-year-old man from Littlehampton was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and driving without due care and attention, and has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
Police made the arrests in the Worthing and Littlehampton areas on Saturday (January 30)
At 1.30pm on Saturday, a 30-year-old suspected outstanding for causing damage to a property in Worthing on January 26, was located and arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage, confirmed police. He was released under investigation.
Pawel Jozef Jaskulski admitted disclosing a sexual photograph or film without consent of the woman. The 34-year-old appeared at Worthing Magistrates’ Court over two offences. The court heard how he had caused distress for his victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons. Campaigners have fought to ensure women s identities are kept anonymous in revenge porn cases, where ex-partners post intimate or compromising sexual photographs or videos online without consent. Jasluski, of Ashurst Close, Bognor, was ordered to pay £200 in compensation and complete 200 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay a £90 surcharge and £85 costs. Magistrates put him under a restraining order not to contact with the victim which lasts until January 2024.
