Photo courtesy of Lewis County C-1 School District Lewis County C-1 School District in northeast Missouri added four propane autogas school buses to its fleet. The district purchased 2022 IC Bus propane buses, which operate on regular routes that span 410 square miles and five counties. “Anything we can do to provide a cleaner environment and less pollution being breathed in by our students is something I believe strongly in striving to accomplish,” says John French, superintendent of Lewis County C-1 School District. “We believe the savings gained from our alternative-fueled propane school buses will eventually lead to more money going into the classroom, which will, in turn, reduce the local tax burden.”

Port of NY and NJ secures funding for electrification initiatives March 9, 2021, by Naida Hakirevic The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, several port tenants, and other agencies and organizations across the state are set to receive more than $100 million for clean, equitable transportation projects. This was unveiled by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy in February this year. The governor also established the Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy that will oversee the creation of the New Jersey Council on the Green Economy. As informed, the funds were allocated from the state’s participation in the Regional Green House Gas Initiative (RGGI) and the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust, a legal settlement from the carmaker over emissions cheating claims.
