Woman pleads guilty to distributing fentanyl that led to Bellingham boy s overdose death

Jan. 12 A Mount Vernon woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl in Whatcom and Skagit counties that led to two overdoses, including the death of a Bellingham 17-year-old in 2019.
Rosaliana Lopez-Rodriguez, 22, faces a prison term of between five and 40 years after pleading guilty in U.S. District Court in Seattle, according to a U.S. Department of Justice release.
Lopez-Rodriguez and her alleged supplier, Giovanni Alejandro Nunez, 21, were arrested, and on Dec. 4, 2019, they were charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
The 20-year-old victim came forward January 6 and reported that 47-year-old Santos Rodriguez Gallegos of Everson had sexually assaulted her at a small gathering in Lynden on December 12

Jan. 8 A Whatcom County man reportedly threw a bag containing a handgun, ammunition, heroin and methamphetamine out a car window while leading law enforcement on a chase Tuesday evening in an unsuccessful attempt to get away.
The Whatcom County Sheriff s Office booked Shawn Eric Linn Sivo, 38, into Whatcom County Jail Tuesday, Jan. 5, on suspicion of second-degree assault, attempting to elude a police vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen firearm, reckless driving, unlawful possession of a firearm and driving with a suspended license. Jail records show he is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Jan. 6 A Whatcom County man who reportedly fired a shotgun at a sleeping family member early Wednesday, narrowly missing, told deputies that the TV news told him to do it. The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office booked Scott Allen Granger, 53, into Whatcom County Jail Jan. 6 on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder. Deputies were called at approximately midnight Wednesday to the 3000 block .
