By Forrest Camire July 13, 2021 5:40 pm The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office has arrested at large attempted murder suspect, Pavel Vasilchenko, and another man connected to the crime. After issuing several warrants on residences at Golden Valley Drive searching for Vasilchenko, officers were unable to locate him. An investigation was quickly launched, finding Vasilchenko’s friend, 37-year-old Donald Siguaw had repeatedly threatened and harassed the victim. Probable cause was determined to charge Siguaw with Felony Harassment, and he was taken into custody on July 11th. Today around 2:30pm, Vasilchenko turned himself in and was booked into Whatcom County Jail under Attempted Murder in the 1st Degree.

By Adam Smith July 2, 2021 4:49 pm KGMI WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The Whatcom’s County Sheriff’s Office wants everyone to use extreme caution this weekend when they’re using fireworks or a recreational fire. Fireworks regulations vary between unincorporated areas and cities in Whatcom County but throughout the county they are only legal at these times: o July 3rd: 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM o July 4th: 6:00 PM until 12:00 midnight o July 5th: 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM Due to the recent excessive heat, a burn ban has been enacted for all unincorporated Whatcom County. Recreational fires are still allowed with landowner’s permission but must meet the following requirements:
