EPHRATA: A vehicle driven by a 17-year-old male struck a parked vehicle occupied by a woman in the 700 block of South State Street at 6:49 p.m. on June 7, police said. The impact of the crash forced both vehicles over the curb, across a portion of sidewalk, until they came to a rest in the driveway of a residence, police said. The woman was hospitalized with unknown injuries, while the juvenile was cited for traffic violations and uninjured, police said.

Subscriber only A Central Queensland woman crashed a ute into the bedroom of a young boy in Moranbah, while more than three times the legal alcohol limit. Cheyneisha Sharnee Huxley-Wilkie, 24, was driving home from a party about 3.45am on September 20, 2020, when she failed to negotiate a turn and crashed a Toyota Hilux ute into a Moranbah home. Emerald Magistrates Court heard that Huxley-Wilkie, who recorded a blood-alcohol content reading of .157, didn t realise she approached the T-intersection at Bernborough Avenue and Shannon Drive and couldn t come to a stop in time. Police prosecutor Sergeant Paul Cramp said the vehicle came to a stop in a front bedroom that was occupied by a small child, who sustained minor injuries.
