Gritman Medical Center in Moscow is prepared to start giving coronavirus vaccines. The first phase of shots will go to critical medical personnel and first responders.  Gritman is working with the University of Idaho and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories based in Pullman to store the vaccine which requires extremely cold temperatures. SEL stepped up to help Gritman store the shots safely.  The hospital reached out to the global company 2 weeks ago asking for help.  Gritman was unable to find ultra-low temperature monitors for freezers because they were on backorder from the regular supplier.  SEL engineers found that one of their existing products a programmable logic controller could be converted to perform the task.  In a week SEL engineers came up with a temperature monitor digital data logger that’s accurate reliable and user-friendly.  It works with any freezer and sends an alert if it detects a temperature fluctuation.  The plug-and-play device can monitor up to 8
