ISLAMABAD: The Investigation Wing of police on Friday launched a Short-Message-Service (SMS) that will update complainants on the status of their first information reports (FIRs).
According to police, under this automated system, both the complainant and respective investigation officer (IO) would be intimated via SMS about lodging of an FIR. This initiative will ensure constant coordination between an investigation officer and plaintiff.
The IO would be required to inform the complainant about progress of a case after the SMS alert, police said, adding that the officers would also contact the plaintiff to find out if he or she was facing any problems while pursuing the case.
Islamabad police arrested 16 outlaws including kite flyers and sellers
Islamabad, February 16, 2021 (PPI-OT): In order to incorporate law, the Islamabad police on Monday arrested 16 outlaws including kite flyers and sellers. Under directions of DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar, the police launched a crackdown against kite flyers and sellers at different localities of the district. The SP (City-zone) Umer Khan constituted special police teams under the supervision of DSP Iqbal Khan SHO Aabpara along with other officials arrested accused kite dealer namely Ejaz Ali s/o Muhammad Malak resident of Sector G-7 Islamabad and recovered large numbers of kites from him. While SHOs Kohsar and Aabpara along with other officials. Police teams nabbed five Kite flyers namely Aqib Javed, Ramesh, Shahriar, Osama Khan and Samar Yusuf were arrested and a large number of kites and strings were recovered,
Efforts afoot to make Islamabad safest city: SSP
Islamabad, February 06, 2021 (PPI-OT): Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Syed Mustafa Tanvir on Saturday said efforts were afoot to make Islamabad safest city as it was foremost priority of the federal capital police. Following directions of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, DIG (Operations) Islamabad Afzaal Ahmed Kausar assigned task to SSP (Operations) Dr Syed Mustafa Tanveer for effective action against those involved in anti-social activities.
SP (Rural-Zone) Rana Abdul Wahab constituted police team under the supervision of DSP Mubarak Ali including SHO Khanna police station Sub-inspector Kamal Khan and others. This team arrested a wanted member of street criminal gang identified as Danish and recovered snatched cash, mobile phone weapons used in crime.

ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Police claimed to have arrested 45 suspects, including seven proclaimed offenders, from various areas of the city and recovered mobile phones, narcotics and weapons from their possession, a police spokesperson shared on Monday.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and DIG (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed had directed all officials of the city’s police force to accelerate their efforts to curb antisocial activities in the city. Following these directions, SP Saddar Sarfraz Virk constituted a team under the supervision of sub-divisional police officers, including SHOs of the Shalimar and Karachi Company police stations and others.
