MUZAFFARABAD: In the absence of Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, his younger sister Aseefa Bhutto Zardari joined the party’s electioneering campaign in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, as PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz claimed that the people of AJK had already made the decision in her party’s favour.
Ms Bhutto-Zardari asked the party workers who had gathered at Kohala, the gateway to the AJK capital, to go door to door and tell the people about the PPP sacrifices.
“We have given sacrifices of lives for the rights of the people and we are ready to continue our struggle for the democratic rights of Kashmir,” she said.

ISLAMABAD: The opposition lawmakers on Wednesday lodged a strong protest in the National Assembly and Senate over scathing remarks of a federal minister about two former prime ministers Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif and warned that use of such language could lead to more confrontation and chaos.
The opposition members in the National Assembly staged a walkout and disrupted the proceedings by pointing out lack of quorum whereas the legislators in the upper house had a verbal clash when some treasury members again targeted the opposition’s leadership and tried to defend Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur who had called the late Bhutto a “traitor” and Mr Sharif a “robber” during an election rally in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Tuesday.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur came under scathing criticism from the opposition in the Senate on Wednesday for calling ex-PM Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB) a traitor, charging that the language being used by some ministers was opening up a new political tug-of-war.
For some time, it became inaudible as former chairman Raza Rabbani resorted to loud slogan-chanting against the government and its ministers. Some opposition lawmakers came near the dice of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani. There was complete unity in the ranks of lawmakers belonging to PPP, PML-N, JUI-F and other parties as they joined hands to condemn the minister for Kashmir and asked what message he was giving to Kashmiris by such utterances.
