NEW YORK, Feb. 23, 2021 /PRNewswire/ S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) today releases the latest results for the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices, the leading measure of U.S. home prices. Data released today for December 2020 show that home prices continue to increase across the U.S. More than 27 years of history are available for the data series, and can be accessed in full by going to https://www.spglobal.com/spdji/.
Please note that transaction records for October 2020 and November 2020 for Wayne County, MI, are now available. Due to delays at the local recording office caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, S&P DJI and CoreLogic were previously unable to generate valid October 2020 and November 2020 updates for the Detroit S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices.

Rising from 8.4 percent growth the month before, the home price numbers reveal a year in which the pandemic did little to temper sky-high growth seen during much of 2020, after the immediate shock of the pandemic wore off.
“The trend of accelerating home prices that began in June 2020 has now reached its sixth month with November’s emphatic report,” Craig Lazzara, managing director and global head of index investment strategy at S&P Dow Jones Indices, said in a statement. “The National Composite Index gained 9.5 percent relative to its level a year ago, accelerating from October’s 8.4 percent increase.”

November Home Prices Climbed at Highest Rate in Six Years Jan 26 2021, 10:12AM
The annual increases in U.S. home prices
is nearing dizzying levels. The November data from the Federal Housing Finance
Agency (FHFA)
crossed into double digits for the second consecutive month while
the months numbers from S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price
NSA Index came close.
The Case-Shiller index,
which covers all nine U.S. census
divisions,
gained 9.5 percent compared to the previous November. The annual increase
in October was 8.4 percent. On a seasonally
