The photo was taken on Wednesday. – SUN PHOTO Development work of the Swadhinata Stambha (Independence Monument) project on Suhrawardy Udyan and Shahbagh Shishu Park in the capital has seen slow progress in the last three years despite the prime minister’s directive to quickly implement the project. According to official documents, the project (third phase) started in January 2018 and was supposed to be completed by December, 2020 before the golden jubilee celebration of the country’s independence, but the progress of the project has got stuck due to negligence of the authorities concerned.
