(Photo from Sheridan Media files) Sheridan County School District No. 2 announces new leaders to take the reigns at Sheridan High School and Sheridan Junior High School beginning July 1. Sheridan High School The district has selected Michael Carnes as Sheridan High School’s next principal. Since 2013, Carnes has served as principal at Middletown Area High School in Middletown, Pennsylvania, where he led a campus of 650 students and approximately 100 staff members.  Among his many accomplishments is working with administrators to improve curricular offerings in Middletown, such as increasing the number of AP and Accelerated courses and tailoring staff development based on individual teacher needs.

SCSD No 2 discuss virtual learning pilot program – Sheridan Media

In a unanimously approved decision during their board retreat on March 13, the Sheridan County School District No. 2 Board of Trustees approved a virtual learning pilot program, scheduled to begin in the fall of 2021. According to the district, the Board discussed the virtual learning program at three consecutive board meetings, ultimately approving a three year pilot program. Trustees considered extensive input from students, parents, staff, and district leadership before making the decision. Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Assessment Mitch Craft told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, the district will use the remainder of the spring to further develop the program scheduled to begin next fall.
