Pfizer Vaccine Approved For Some Minors, But Parents Remain Hesitant

Pfizer Vaccine Approved For Some Minors, But Parents Remain Hesitant Federal health officials approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for 12 to 15-year-olds Monday. Urban counties are scheduling appointments for interested families, but access to the vaccine continues to be an issue in rural areas. More urban counties like Flathead and Gallatin have already been signing up children 12 to 15 years old for shots in anticipation of the approval. These counties have access to the proper ultra-cold freezers that can store the Pfizer vaccine.  It’s the only shot that’s been approved for use in minors and it’s been a struggle for rural counties to access. Sheridan County Public Health Director Sherri Marriage says that’s not the only problem.

Posted On 0 likes 2 min Sheridan, WYO The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) has approved a request from all Sheridan County school districts to make masks optional in K-12 schools. The change took effect today. Approval from the WDH exempts local schools from the mask requirement included in the Twenty-Fourth Continuation of Statewide Public Health Order #1. Signed by State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist, the exception also grants school districts the authority to continue requiring masks under certain circumstances. This may include bus trips for activities and other situations where masks could help curb transmission, as determined by school and district administration in consultation with health officials.

Sheridan Memorial Hospital shares strong vaccine numbers – Sheridan Media

Recently, Sheridan Memorial Hospital Director of Lean Transformation Dr. Lekan Ajayi and SHM Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Addlesperger gathered vaccination numbers from three major vaccine administering institutions in Sheridan County. The three institutions are SMH, Sheridan County Public Health and the VA Medical System.  These numbers represent a group of residents vaccinated at one of three separate public and government institutions, and do not represent those who may have been vaccinated at a pharmacy.  Below are a series of tables showing the amount of vaccinated residents based on age group. The first line of cells tells the age of the patients. The second line shows the amount of individuals in that age group who have received their first round of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines. The third line shows the number of individuals who have either received their second dose or have opted to take the one shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
