Cheney: ‘The American People Deserve to Know What Happened on January 6th’ Minority Leader McCarthy’s decision was in response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s rejection of two of McCarthy’s choices for the select committee to investigate the January 6th attack on the Capitol. Pelosi rejected Representatives Jim Banks of Indiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio.  Congresswoman Cheney said the attack on the Capitol in January was the worst attack on the Capitol since 1814 and the American people deserve to know what happened on January 6th as it was an attack on our constitution.
