His beleaguered Cinderella may be yet to hit the stage – it’s currently scheduled to do so on August 18 – but Andrew Lloyd Webber has still managed to get two shows off the ground this week. Phantom has returned to Her Majesty s, and Joseph, which Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice wrote as larky twentysomethings in the late Sixties, is at the Palladium. Laurence Connor’s production (one of countless revivals over the years) was first seen in 2019, with Jason Donovan here reprising his role as the Pharaoh and Alexandra Burke replacing Sheridan Smith as the narrator.
Sheridan Smith is still wearing her £10,000 ring engagement ring from ex-fiancé Jamie Horn
