So, why isn t it happening? Did they chicken out? Nope.just postponed it.  The 20th Annual Polar Plunge is set for March 20, 2021. According to the Sheriff s Office, With COVID-19 challenges being considered the Plunge committee led by local law enforcement, Special Olympics Minnesota and the Rochester Flyers Special Olympics team.Limits will be placed on how many plungers will jump, belly flop, swan dive and cannonball into the cool waters of Foster Arend lake.

Olmsted County Commissioners Freeze Their Salaries

Olmsted County Commissioners Freeze Their Salaries Rochester,  MN (KROC AM News) -  The Olmsted County Board has approved its 2021 budget. Included in the budget are the salaries the commissioners and others will be paid next year. The commissioners voted unanimously to freeze their salaries at $49,000, the same as this year. They will each also receive monthly stipends of $500. The board also approved next year’s salaries for Sheriff Kevin Torgerson and County Attorney Mark Ostrem. Both will be paid the same as this year. Torgerson will be paid $149,000 while Ostrem will receive just over $184,000.
