Flagler County deputies have arrested an 11-year-old for allegedly threatening to bomb his school. It was the second threat-related arrest of a Flagler County student this week, and, as in the earlier case, the suspect said he hadn t been serious.
“This is the second arrest this week for making threats and then claiming they were just joking,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “Parents, please talk to your kids about wrong and right and keep track of what they’re bringing to school in their backpacks. Do not be surprised when we come knocking on your door after hearing about a bomb threat your child has made. Saying you were just joking is not going to make deputies turn around and leave. On the morning of Dec. 23, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) responded to 2982 North Ocean Shore Boulevard after receiving multiple calls that a male, later identified as 56-year-old Timothy Gibson, was intoxicated and threatening to harm his family.
Callers stated that Gibson was breaking car windows, screaming and behaving erratically outside of his trailer. One caller reported witnessing Gibson grab hunting gear from his truck before barricading himself inside his trailer, telling the caller he was ‘locked and loaded and not coming out.
FCSO immediately set up a perimeter, secured the scene and began crisis negotiations to encourage Gibson to surrender peacefully. Flagler County Sheriff s Office deputies have arrested three suspects and are searching for a fourth in connection with a Dec. 12 armed home invasion robbery in Palm Coast s P-Section.
The FCSO received a 911 call from a home on Prospect Lane shortly before midnight. It was an open line, and the dispatcher could hear an argument but was not able to speak with the caller.
Units responded to the location and saw a silver Chevy speeding away. It crashed at Palm Coast Parkway and Colbert Lane, and multiple males ran away from the crash.
