Driver, 86, killed in head-on crash near Becker Police say he lost control of his vehicle. Author: An elderly man has died from injuries he sustained in a crash near Becker on Thursday. According to the Sherburne County Sheriff s Office, Ronald Olson, 86, of Monticello lost control of the car he was driving, crossing the centerline of County Road 14 Thursday morning. This happened on a curve, with his vehicle sliding into the path of an oncoming pickup truck. Olson died at a hospital early Friday, police say. The driver of the pickup, a 36-year-old man from Big Lake, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators believe that slippery road conditions likely were a contributing factor in the collision, the sheriff s office said.

(FOX 9) - A driver died after a head-on crash near Big Lake, Minnesota Thursday morning.  According to the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, an 86-year-old Monticello man was traveling east on County Road 14 just south of U.S. Highway 10 in Big Lake Township when he lost control of his car in a curve and slid into the path of an oncoming pickup truck.  The driver of the car, identified as Ronald Olson, died early Friday at the hospital.  The driver of the pickup truck, a 36-year-old Big Lake man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Isanti woman injured in Big Lake crash

An Isanti woman was injured Saturday, Dec. 26 in a two-vehicle crash at Highway 10 and Eagle Lake Road in Big Lake. The Minnesota State Patrol was called to the scene of the crash shortly before 11 a.m. on Dec. 26. Callie Olson, 35 of Big Lake, was heading south on Eagle Lake Road in a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse when she proceeded south on Eagle Lake Road on a green light, according to the State Patrol. Tracy Lynn Olson, 53 of Isanti, was driving east on Highway 10 in a 2017 Subaru Forester and ran a red light. Tracy Olson struck Callie Olson’s vehicle in the intersection, according to the State Patrol.
