Royal Dutch Shell’s (NYSE: RDS.A) subsidiary, Equilon Enterprises LLC d/b/a Shell Oil Products U.S., has reached an agreement for the sale of its Puget Sound Refinery near Anacortes, Washington.
The refinery is being sold to a subsidiary of HollyFrontier Corporation, an independent refiner headquartered in Texas, for $350 million in cash, plus the value of the hydrocarbon inventory. This inventory will be valued at closing based on actual volumes and prevailing market prices, although its current value is said to range from $150 million to $180 million.

The acquisition included all assets of the previous owners Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) (30 per cent), Total E&P Nigeria Ltd (10 per cent) and ENI (five per cent) in the lease.
Elumelu serves as chairman of UBA, Transcorp and Heirs Holdings.

In an interview on Arise TV on Wednesday, Elumelu said UBA did not participate in the acquisition of OML 17.
He said the fund was obtained from other international and local lenders including African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), Absa in South Africa, Fidelity Bank and Union Bank.

The Dutch oil firm experienced leaks caused by corrosion and equipment failure on nine occasions during the period under review, while 64 cases were as a result of sabotage, vandalism and third party interference.
Similarly, the oil multinational discharged into the Niger Delta environment 102.7barrels of crude through operational failure, while 4,199.48 barrels was spewed through sabotage, amounting to 4,309.18barrels in total; which is 30.1percent lower than 6,165.58 recorded in the first half of 2020.
