Electric Ford GT40 emerges
Ford’s iconic race car to be first electrified model under new Everrati and Superformance venture
The iconic Ferrari-beating Ford GT40 race car will receive a new whisper-quiet lease on life as the first model to be electrified under a new strategic partnership forged between British EV converter Everrati and US-based rolling chassis specialist Superformance.
The two companies say they’re on a mission “to future-proof automotive icons”, delivering concours-condition classics with a custom battery-electric powertrain.
A prototype of the pure-electric Ford GT40 is currently in development at Everrati’s R&D centre in Upper Heyford in Oxfordshire, where the endurance racer has been stripped of its V8.
