Shelby Township police seek missing 52-year-old man

Scott Caswell. (WDIV-TV) SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are searching for a missing 52-year-old man named Scott Caswell who was last seen leaving work on 23 Mile and Mound roads March 11. According to police, Caswell was driving a 2011 white Ford Super Duty with the Florida plate number JXIZ75 northbound on Mound Road. Macomb prosecutor wants to review COVID-19 nursing home deaths for possible crimes The newly elected prosecutor of Macomb County says there needs to be an orderly review process to determine whether potentially criminal conduct by the governor or anyone else played a role in nursing home residents dying because  of COVID-19.  Peter Lucido, a former Republican state senator and frequent critic of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, spoke in sweeping terms during a press conference Thursday. He repeatedly said no one would face charges without evidence. The comments came days after he told local television station WXYZ that Whitmer and anyone else could face criminal charges related to state nursing home policies.

On Nov. 3, 2018, officer Jason Zuk shot and killed 25-year-old Kanwarbir Malhi, who was allegedly acting aggressively toward police. The Macomb County prosecutor decided not to press charges in the case. “Following a review of the video footage, testimony and other evidence, the Attorney General’s office determined Zuk acted under an honest and reasonable belief that he and other officers were in danger and no criminal charges will be filed,” according to a press release.

Shelby Township police searching for bank robbery suspect Advertisement SHELBY TOWNSHIP The Shelby Township Police Department is searching for a suspect who was recorded on surveillance video robbing a bank in Shelby Township Dec. 28. Shelby Township police responded to an alert that a man had entered the PNC Bank located at 45125 Hayes Road, at Hall Road, at 1:28 p.m. Dec. 28 wearing a mask and work gloves and that he then presented the teller with a note demanding money. The robber placed the money from the teller in a blue fabric bag that the robber had brought with him. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the man then left on foot and was seen running south across Hall Road into Sterling Heights.
