Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued instructions extending tourist visas for one month without government fees, to address the difficulties faced by visitors due to the closure of some airports across the world.
As per the order, all tourists visiting the UAE will have their visas extended for one month without fees.
The decision supports tourists and their families currently in the UAE to spend the New Year holidays.
Government entities will work to facilitate procedures for tourists over the coming period and collaborate with relevant authorities to ensure the safety of all visitors during their stay in the UAE.

DUBAI The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has announced it is putting in place final preparations to link the National Unified Medical Records (Riayati) with all other affiliate medical records (including ‘Nabidh’ and ‘Malaffi’) .
The ministry said the move is being implemented in coordination and cooperation with the Department of Health-Abu Dhabi and the Dubai Health Authority. Riayati is a platform for the exchange of medical information within health facilities and one of the foundations of the healthcare future.
The sceptics among us will say 2020 has ended the same way it began. With more countries closing their borders and others imposing lockdowns due to the emergence of another strain of the coronavirus, the darkest days of the pandemic are seemingly ahead of us, like US President- elect Joe Biden said the other day.
The optimists meanwhile will argue that the Covid-19 vaccines are here and being rolled out around the world. Things will only get better. They cannot get any worse anyway, can they? I personally don’t think so. I think 2021 will be the year of good news. The signs are there despite the recent setbacks in the UK and the US.
