Fake medical worker who specializes in treating bandits arrested in Katsina On By Bashir Bello A fake medical worker, one Musa Shamsudin, who specializes in allegedly treating sick and wounded bandits has been arrested in Kankara axis of Katsina state. It was gathered that the suspect, Shamsudin (25-year-old), an indigene of Kogi state but residing in Kankara was suspected of always going into the forest to give the bandits medical treatments. The spokesperson, Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed this to newsmen in the state on Tuesday. The kidnappers gave the family April 12 – 20, 2021 to raise N5m to balance up the N10m ransom they demanded to release nine people still in captivity. Daily Trust had reported how the family was directed to pick the corpses of four of the victims after paying N5m to the kidnappers. The oldest son of the cleric, Malam Isyaku, who was at Daily Trust office in Kano last week, could barely hold back his tears as he recounted the trauma the family has gone through since the abduction of his father in March.

He said they initially demanded N15 million but after negotiation, the kidnappers agreed to collect N10 million. “We have already gathered and submitted N5 million to the kidnappers. But when we got to the place they directed us to go and pick our people, they only brought four dead bodies of them. “When we asked them why they killed them, they said we must give the agreed N10 million for them to release our father and the other nine people, or else they will also tell us where to go and pick their corpses. “We couldn’t even carry the corpses because they had already decomposed. We had to bury them there,” he said.
