This is part of the SMC’s global refurbishment, says the company. Satoshi would be succeeding Koichiro Hirao. Satoshi is well aware of the Indian market and has served Suzuki Motorcycle India as Deputy Executive General Manager - Motorcycle Operations (India/West Asia/Africa) at Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan in the past. In his last role, he has served in the US, the company states. Commenting on his new role, Satoshi states, This company (SMIPL) has always been very close to my heart. In fact, India is one of the largest manufacturers of two wheelers in the world. For us at Suzuki, it offers immense opportunities for growth and it will be my endeavour once again to further consolidate our base here in India.”

New Delhi, May 13 : In a global management rejig, Satoshi Uchida has become the head of Suzuki Motor Corporation s two-wheeler subsidiary Suzuki Motorcycle India.
As part of the SMC s global revamp, Uchida succeeded Koichiro Hirao with effect from May 1, 2021. Being at the helm of the company, Satoshi Uchida, who comes with more than 30 years of valuable experience across various global markets, will be responsible to explore new avenues for growth and further strengthen Suzuki Motorcycle India s position in the Indian Market, the company said.

Synopsis In view of the current severe situation from the second wave of COVID-19, the company has informed its associates and suppliers that the company is making calendar adjustments along with its maintenance block closure at its manufacturing plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan, a Honda Cars India spokesperson said.

Honda Cars India on Thursday said it is advancing maintenance shutdown at its Rajasthan-based manufacturing plant by around ten days in the wake of second wave of COVID.
Other including Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, MG Motor India, Honda MotorCycle and Scooter India (HMSI) and Suzuki Motorcycle India have already announced temporary suspension of manufacturing operations in the wake of rise in COVID cases.
Honda Cars, the Japanese automaker, which sells models like Amaze and City, has decided to shut production at its Tapukara-based facility for 12 days starting from May 7 in order to curtail spread of coronavirus infections.
