+ February 23, 2021 STAKEHOLDERS in the tourism industry welcome the move of the Cebu Provincial Government to ease travel for local tourists from other provinces who want to experience and enjoy Cebu’s destinations.
Following the meeting of the Provincial Tourism Task Force on Friday, Feb. 19, tour operators are now planning to form travel packages and ask airlines to offer cost-efficient packages for visitors wanting to visit any of Cebu’s 44 towns and six component cities.
Andrew Teh, member of the Cebu Travel & Tours Association and Cebu Alliance of Tour Operations Specialists, said they are initially thinking of coming up with cheap package tours that include a two- or three-night stay and a tour of some destinations.
PARAÑAQUE CITY, Jan. 17 (PIA) Today marks the 100-day countdown to the 2021 Quincentennial Commemorations in the Philippines (2021 QCP). Central in these commemorations is the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan on 27 April 2021 (the reckoning date of the countdown).
The Lapu-Lapu City Government kicks-off the countdown at the Lapulapu Monument, Liberty Shrine, Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City in the morning.
Highlight of the event is the declaration of the shrine as a site of the permanent display of the Philippine flag through the NHCP Board Resolution No. 10, s. 2020.
Event guests include Office of the Presidential Adviser in the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino, Philippine Information Agency Director-General Ramon Cualoping III, Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Representative Paz Radaza, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, and Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan.

CEBU CITY Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said she felt vindicated after the Office of the Ombudsman overturned a previous decision, and cleared her and 11 others of criminal charges over alleged anomalies in the construction of the P830-million Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) in 2006.
