Cebu City conducts training course for bike patrol deputies

SunStar (Photo from Sugbo Bike Lanes Board) + April 28, 2021 THE Cebu City Government conducted a Bike Patrol Deputation Training Course for the deputies who will ensure the implementation and public education of the policies under City Ordinance (CO) 2408 or The Sugbo Bike Lanes Ordinance. The training course was held from April 26-29, 2021 at the Carbon Market building. It was led by representatives from the Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO), Base Camp Emergency Response Team, and Sugbo Bike Lanes Board. Based on CO 2408 that was passed in 2014, CCTO is responsible for the “strict implementation of this ordinance, including the establishment of bike racks or bike parking.”

(SunStar File) + April 28, 2021 MOTORISTS who use designated bicycle lanes in Cebu City as parking area will be apprehended and their vehicles towed away beginning May. Lawyer Gerardo Carillo, chairman of the Sugbo Bike Lanes Board (SBLB), said 30 enforcers on bicycles will be deployed beginning May. They are about to complete training on traffic laws and signs. With their deployment, Carillo said full implementation of City Ordinance No. 2408, or The Sugbo Bike Lanes Ordinance, will begin next week.

CCTO issues traffic advisory for April 14 celebration of 500 Years of Christianity

READ: • “No Parking Zone” will be imposed in the vicinity of the Basilica Minore del Santo Santo Niño and Cebu City Hall. The city will clamp or tow away vehicles of violators. • Only participants and visitors with car passes and invitations will be allowed to part. No ID, no entry will be observed.
