+ February 07, 2021 THE Emergency Operations Center (EOC) of Mandaue City has officially opened the Norkis Park Isolation Center located on Plaridel St. in Barangay Looc.
The construction of the Norkis Park along with the conversion of the former Cebu North Bus Terminal (CNBT) into an isolation center started in late August last year.
In December, the Norkis Park was accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) 7 to be used as an isolation center for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients.
August Lizer Malate, the city’s EOC head, said Norkis Park, which has been operating since Monday, Feb. 1, already has 19 Covid-19 patients.

File photo January 15, 2021 DESPITE the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in Mandaue City, the City Government will not use some public schools in the city as quarantine facilities.
The city will also stick to its game plan in fighting Covid-19 and the B.1.1.7. Sars-CoV-2 variant (UK variant), which was already detected in the country.
Based on the Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas bulletin on January 14, 2021, Mandaue City has 95 active Covid-19 cases, an increase from 89 active cases last January 13.
Mayor Jonas Cortes’s executive secretary John Eddu Ibañez said there is still no need to reactivate the use of some public schools.
