I have been bullish on Sun and I maintain my bullish stance on Sun. The ad revenues are going up significantly. With the election season approaching it will boost ad revenues down south, particularly in Tamil Nadu, which is a large market for Sun. The challenge in terms of the OTT platform launched by Sun was visible but the kind of library Sun has, will definitely give it an edge in the Tamil OTT space. As far as Zee is concerned, again the business per se is doing good. The programmes are doing good. The ad revenues are improving but the challenge remains in terms of governance and in terms of ownership structure and the need for a strong promoter to be behind the venture. Media experts said that big properties also helped push up average television viewership with a multiplier effect on movie channels and their ad volumes.

Movies on television saw an 11% spike in advertising volumes in 2020 as compared to 2019, with the festive months of October and November witnessing the highest share of average ad volumes.
According to data from television advertising measurement firm TAM Media Research, though ads on film channels had been growing between 2016 and 2020, the past year saw the highest share of ad volumes for the genre at 23%.
Brickwork downgraded the rating of one of its NC preference shares totalling Rs 806.78 crore.

NEW DELHI: Even as Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZeeL) CEO Punit Goenka s 4.0 vision measures are beginning to bear fruit and are resulting in a better performance for the company, credit rating agency Brickwork Ratings India has downgraded its rating and that of its debt, namely the six per cent cumulative redeemable non-convertible preference shares. These debt instruments are worth Rs 806.78 crore.
ZeeL informed the Bombay stock exchange about Brickwork s downgrade yesterday.
The previous rating for the six per cent cumulative redeemable non-convertible preference shares instrument was BWR AA- (credit watch with negative implications) while the new rating is BWR A (credit watch with negative implications).
