Sudan, Egypt sign joint military cooperation agreement SudanTribube.com June 25, 2021 (KHARTOUM) - The Chiefs of Staff of the Sudanese and Egyptian armies signed a joint cooperation agreement between the two countries on Thursday.
According to the Sudanese military media stated that chiefs of staff in the two countries concluded a memorandum of understanding for joint cooperation between the two armies at the end of an unannounced meeting held in Khartoum.
The deal was signed by Sudanese Army Chief of Staff Lt-Gen Mohamed Osman al-Hussein and his Egyptian counterpart Lt Gen Mohamed Farid Hegazy.
In a short press statement that did not include any details about the MoU, the Sudanese Military Media said that Lt-Gen al-Hussein praised the remarkable development in relations between the two armies and thanked the Egyptian army for their great support and cooperation.

The African roots in the peoples of the Caribbean nations facilitate the relations that Ethiopia is interested in fostering today as a foreign policy objective, said Ethiopian Ambassador to Cuba, Shibru Mamo Kedida.
“Africa is the home and source of a civilization, a culture and ancient traditions that are inherent in the hearts of the Caribbean People,” said the Ethiopian Ambassador in an interview with Prensa Latina. Ethiopia is very interested in cooperating with the Caribbean countries, which is vital to their overall development and essential in their active participation in regional and international platforms and forums, he argued. The Ethiopian government has “great interest in continuing to expand and deepen the collaboration with the Caribbean brothers, because we share common development challenges and priorities, and we advocate strengthening our voices on these vital issues,” the Ambassador stressed.

The content primarily focused on promoting an image of Russia as a friend of the Sudanese people, while simultaneously painting prominent leaders as pawns of the United States. The pages and profiles worked to spread positive stories about Russia, focusing specifically on aid packages sent by Russian oligarch Yevgeny Prigozhin and amplifying the benefits of the creation of a Russian military base in Port Sudan.
Facebook attributed the network to individuals previously involved in Prigozhin’s Internet Research Agency, which became notorious for its interference efforts during the 2016 US presidential election.

Izvestia: Geneva summit could bring about return of US, Russian ambassadors
The most positive outcome expected from the upcoming Putin-Biden summit in Geneva on June 16 could be the return of ambassadors from consultations to each other’s capitals. Thus, the two countries will demonstrate their willingness for dialogue on normalizing or at least unfreezing relations from their current level, an informed source told Izvestia.
