Teachers ready for sit-in outside Parliament
Govt employees, pensioners, labourers threaten to protest over unmet demands as well

The teaching and non-teaching staff across Punjab have completed preparations to stage a sit-in outside Parliament House on February 10 (Wednesday), a spokesperson shared on Saturday. According to details, all educational offices and institutions would be shut down from Wednesday, they threatened.
It was learnt that teachers, clerks, and Grade-IV employees have started reaching Rawalpindi and to avert possible arrests, many of them have gone into hiding. It was stated that they will stay in schools and government offices until protest day.

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet on Wednesday allowed continuation of gas supply to Fauji Fertiliser Bin Qasim for another five years and removed a cap on dividend distribution on Mari gas to facilitate divestment of about 20 per cent of its shareholding.
A meeting of the ECC presided over by Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh also approved a technical supplementary grant of about Rs190 million, including Rs150m for advertisement campaign for projection of government activities on Covid-19 and Kashmir Solidarity Day.
Mari Petroleum Privatization: ECC Allow Removal of Dividend Distribution Cap
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, chaired the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet today.
Petroleum Division moved a summary for removal of Dividend Distribution cap on Mari Gas Company Limited (MPCL) under Gas Pricing Agreement as the company is being considered for privatization. After due deliberation, the ECC allowed that the dividend distribution cap may be removed to ensure that the divestment transaction generates optimum sale proceeds for the Government.
The Committee further decided that MPCL would ensure dividend distribution in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 2017 and the Companies (Distribution of Dividends) Regulations, 2017.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC) Wednesday approved the proposal of Petroleum Division for renewal of gas supply agreement (GAS) between Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) and Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim Limited (FFBQL).
After a detailed discussion, the ECC meeting chaired by Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, approved with a condition that the renewal would be allowed on “as and when available basis” for a period of five years.

ISLAMABAD: A parliamentary committee on Monday asked the government to commit a major part of savings from its drive against smuggling of petroleum products through the Iranian border worth over Rs200 billion annually to livelihood projects to avoid any unrest arising out of closure of illegal business of the people involved.
A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum presided over by Senator Mohsin Aziz was informed that about 2.2 million people were associated with oil smuggling in Balochistan because of limited job opportunities.
