Wichita police arrest man, 38, in connection with south-side stranger rape case Amy Renee Leiker, The Wichita Eagle Mar. 8 Authorities say they have arrested a 38-year-old Oklahoma man in connection with a Wichita case where a woman was raped by an intruder after answering a knock at her front door last week. Antonio Rozell Riley was arrested on suspicion of several crimes including rape, criminal sodomy, kidnapping, aggravated burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia, Wichita police Lt. Christian Cory said during a Monday news briefing. Riley was also jailed for an active warrant. He was booked into the Sedgwick County Detention Facility at around 1:22 a.m. on Monday morning, online inmate records show. He is being held in lieu of bonds totaling $202,500.

James Alden Hathorn and Tiffany Lynn Vulgamore were arrested Sunday morning at the home in the 1400 block of South St. Francis where the officers were injured the previous afternoon. Wichita police detectives checking the home caught the pair as they were trying to enter it, the police said in a Monday afternoon news release.

Wichita man arrested for fatal New Year’s Day shooting Police have a 22-year-old man in custody for a fatal shooting that happened on New Year’s Day at a north Wichita home. The man was arrested for the January 1st shooting death of 26-year-old Nicholas Sims.  Officers found Sims at a home in the 2600 block of North Bullinger, and detectives found that he had been shot during an argument that broke out at a party.   The argument moved outside the home, and then the shooting took place.   At least 50 people were attending the party at the time. Information will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for the filing of charges.
