Yas Mall will implement the quiet room on the first Monday of each month, starting from April 5, to help people with autism and other sensory disorders.
From 11am to 12pm, sensory-controlled shopping experiences will see brightness of lights reduced, music cancelled and odours from perfume and incense stores limited. Additionally, all advertisements will be stopped, except for emergency information.

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 03rd Apr, 2021) To mark World Autism Awareness Day, Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), in cooperation with the management of Yas Mall Abu Dhabi, has launched the Quiet Hour initiative, to provide sensory-controlled shopping experiences.
This includes a quiet room that provided a haven inside the mall for those in need, aiming to help people with autism and other sensory disorders and their parents, allowing them to spend some time and relax in a sensory-controlled environment, creating a safe and quiet place, where families can enjoy a customised shopping experience.

The labelling will be available in Arabic, English, and Urdu languages.
The UAE has launched a new initiative to provide medication instruction labels in Braille in order to help the visually impaired read medicine labels independently.

The move was undertaken by the Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) to protect the rights of people of determination and provide all the appropriate services to support their integration into society.
The Braille labelling was prepared by experts and printed at the printing press of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO), the UAE’s only facility that provides such a service.

Covid-19: Abu Dhabi launches programme to control obesity among People of Determination

About 63 people between the ages of 16 to 50 years are participating in the programme.
Following an increase in the number of overweight cases among People of Determination during the Covid-19 pandemic, a weight management and nutrition programme has been rolled out for them in Abu Dhabi.
The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) in cooperation with Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a SEHA Health System Facility recently surveyed people of determination and contacted them or their families to find out if there were any changes to their physical health and wellbeing.
