Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents recovered three vehicles used for human smuggling while working their assigned duties near Cotulla, Texas. Two vehicles were identified as stolen, while the third was cloned to appear as a fleet vehicle for an oil and energy company. All three vehicles are believed to have been used in criminal activity.

U.S. Border Patrol agents working with La Salle County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen vehicle while a second vehicle was abandoned by its driver on Interstate 35 near Cotulla, Texas. Agents suspect the vehicles were to be used in human smuggling attempts.
The incident occurred during the early morning of Feb. 25, when agents assigned to the Cotulla Station attempted a vehicle stop on a white Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound near mile marker 70 on I-35. The truck appeared to be traveling in tandem with a gray Toyota Tundra.
