Easter: FRSC deploys over 3,000 Marshals, sets up mobile courts

Ahead of this year’s Easter celebration, the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Zone 4 Command comprising Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa States has called on all road users and transport fleet operators within the Zone to abide by traffic rules and regulations as well as the COVID-19 protocol during the Easter festive period or risk arrest and prosecution.
The Zonal Commanding Officer RS4, Assistant Corps Marshal Kayode OLAGUNJU, mni gave this warning in a release signed by the Acting Public Education Officer, Route Commander Olusegun Owoeye in Jos to herald the commencement in the Zone of the nationwide “EASTER SPECIAL PATROL OPERATION” with the aim of ensuring sanity and prevention of deaths and injuries on the road during the festive period.

The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has confirmed that nothing less than11 stolen vehicles were recovered from Zone 4 of the Commission.
The Zonal Commanding Officer of Zone 4, comprising Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa States, Assistant Corps Marshal Kayode Olagunjuq, stated that 11 stolen vehicles were recovered by the Zone in the last one year and handed over to the Police for further investigation and prosecution.
He said the stolen vehicles were discovered at the point of re-registration and uploading of the vehicle details to the National Database across the Zone.
“The vehicles recovered were; six Toyota Corolla, two Toyota Camry, one Toyota Tacoma, one, Pontiac Vibe and one Mazda 323.”
The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against Vikas Ganjhu, the zonal commander of the Tritiya Prastuti Comittee, a Jharkhand based terror group.

The charge sheet said TMC a break-away terrorist group of CPI (Maoist) is also an unlawful organisation proscribed by the State of Jharkhand under CLA Act 1908 while adding that TPC is involved in extortion and levy collection from the businessmen, industrialists, contractors involved in government developmental projects in several districts of Jharkhand and Bihar.
